This weekend we attended the Outdoor Wildlife Expo. It was great fun. Well, the first day was only moderate fun. Asher had a real hard time with the heat and Caylee got a bloody nose, so we did not stay long. The picture of the girls listening to a story happened on the first day. We thought a story would be a good idea, but turned out to be a bummer. It was supposed a story about the buffalo, but it turned out to be story about the evil white people.

I could tell that the storyteller was impressed that the girls sat and paid attention during the whole story. All the other slightly older kids (for which the story was intended) only stayed for a few minutes. My guess is that it is a credit to not watching very much television.

This picture is the next day. This pony was part of a drawing. I hope the friendly little fella got a good home. Posted by Picasa

Aw, you've just got "good" girls who really enjoy books! :) My kids watch TV pretty much every day (I'd say "too much" according to most conservatives' standards), but they also really LOVE books. If it's an interesting story, they would sit politely and listen too. I think many older kids, probably like the ones who you encountered that day, are probably not read to or read very often, and are probably in public school where they *have* to sit all day long and then explode with energy when they get the opportunity! Okay, enough rambling. I'm glad you had fun. :)

Yea! I found the expo post :)

It was awesome! How fun it must have been to participate in the fishing clinic!
